The children's author David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

The author

Acclaimed children's author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, the company has said.

A spokesman for the firm commented: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding reports of inappropriate behaviour directed at young women.

The firm declined to specify the reasons for its decision, stating: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams stands as a most best-selling authors for kids, having sold more than 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.

His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works altogether, encompassing a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
