The former president's Family Member Gets Professional Guidance from Tiger Woods Before LPGA First Appearance
This young athlete has considerable online following
Kai Trump can count on plenty of prominent cheerleaders when she starts her LPGA debut on Thursday.
This teenage golfer, who is the granddaughter of Donald Trump, received a tournament invitation to compete at Florida's Annika event in the Sunshine State.
Her grandfather, an avid golfer, operates numerous courses worldwide and frequently competes against his granddaughter.
"He's quite skilled. I can't say much but we have some close matches," she mentioned.
The golfer shared that Trump, who won't be present, advised her: "Just don't get nervous."
"My grandpa essentially suggested to go out there and enjoy myself," she added.
"In my eyes, he's just a regular grandfather. He's not attending this weekend. He's busy with running the country, making him rather occupied."
While still amateur, Kai has competed in just three tournaments in 2024 and holds ranking 461 in the American Junior Golf Association standings.
But she's able to seek guidance from 15-time major champion, who is dating Vanessa.
"He is the top athlete in the world," the young golfer said.
"Furthermore, he's a superior person. He suggested me to compete, enjoy myself, and go with whatever happens."
Kai will face several top competitors in professional golf at the competition, featuring second-ranked the champion, England's Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
Tournament organizers stated that her participation helps introduce golf to wider groups, especially among youth audiences.
Kai has substantial online presence and recently launched a personal clothing and lifestyle brand.
She begins at 5:30 PM GMT.
