Two Men Face Charges In Connection With Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident
Two men have been charged related to a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be capsaicin spray caused injuries at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two robbery charges and charges for administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.
This legal action stems from an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their suitcases taken after getting out of a parking garage elevator, police said.
A young child was one of the people hurt in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
The incident – which authorities stated was a standalone event and deemed non-terroristic – resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
